Missions at MBC is based on the teaching of Jesus when He said to His disciples, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)

      • Missions involve going to all nations, not just internationally, but locally and regionally.
      • Missions involve making disciples (followers) of Christ.
      • Missions involve baptizing those who receive Christ by faith.
      • Missions involve teaching biblical truth so those of faith will observe them.
      • Missions trust Christ to always be a part of the work.

Jesus also taught to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:39 The ministry of missions will demonstrate love to those as we go.

MBC also understands that the work of missions is a commission of God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (ESV) tells us “Therefore, we are ambassadors of Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” We understand that we are God’s representatives in this world, appealing to humanity to be reconciled to God through the Gospel.

The initiatives of Missions are to make an Impact on our local, regional, and international neighbors with the Gospel and the love of God.
